welcome on delphi.newswhat.com, the web front end for Borland Delphi related
newsgroups (the site delphiedintorni.it has now turned to the italian language).
You are connected since
Your previous connection was on
(Newsgroup messages between these dates are marked as new).
Site Updates
Jul 21st: The site is now tracking the areas visited by each logged user, and lists the
groups you've visited of an area in a separate list from the other groups.
This is complementary to the group section
in the favorites, whewre you can pick specific groups even across areas. Only for registered users, of course.
Apr 22nd: I've redesigned the home page with the inclusion, beside the RSS feeds, of
suggested forums and threads. Desisions on what to add to this page are based on my personal ideas
and depend on the groups I follow. You can have a similar "personal" structure by setting up
your own favorite threads, groups, and authors
(a feature available only to registered users).
April 7th: We are adding support for RSS feeds, in the home page you can see the short version,
more details by clicking on a specific feed or going to the details page...
April 4th: We are now hosting Google Ads. Hope they don't come into your way.
For us, it is a way to get a little extra cash.
April 2nd: I've added the new InstantObjects newsgroup to the site. BTW, we have our
own NNTP server running on the server, and are available for hosting both user groups and free projects
(for free) and third party vendors (for a fee). For more information contact Marco.
The Delphi NewsWhat Site
This site allows you to browse a set of programming-related newsgroups and now also mailing lists.
Topics include for now Borland Delphi and Kylix plus many third parties including Firebird.
The key feature of this site is that newsgroup
navigation is thread-oriented rather than message-oriented as most similar sites do.
To post messages and to see the new messages since your last login, you have to
create an account on the site (all we need is a "real" email address for sending
activation information and the nickname/email address for posting in the newsgroups).
When logged, you can also store your favorite threads. Use the favorites link in the
main side menu to check with a glance the status of many threads in different groups. Remove a
thread from your list using the "remove" command in the favorite page. Youc an store also your
favorite authors to track their posts regardless of the newsgroup. You need
to create a free account to use this feature, as the info is stored in the user preferences!
There is a forum search engine on author names and message titles.
On www.newswhat.com you can find a summary of the technology
begin used.
A separate site hosts groups in Italian and is available at
www.delphiedintorni.it
